Thompson River University has campuses in Kamloops and William lake. TRU  founded  in 1970 .

It has more than 26,000 students study on our campuses, representing 50 different nationalities. Thompson River University offers Graduate program in a variety of subjects, such as Business administration, Accounting, Computer sciences, Chemical biology, Molecular and microbial biology and Architectural technology . New students who lack prerequisites for these programs can still enrol and begin their studies while simultaneously upgrading in TRU’s University Preparation courses. Students starting out in certificate or diploma programs can also apply their credits earned towards our bachelor’s degrees (“laddering”).
The University has three intakes per year in January, May and September enabling students to study flexibly.

Whether on campus, through Open Learning, or a blend of both, TRU offers the flexibility of daytime, evening and summer session courses, and full-time or part-time study.

Student Life

Student life here is cultured and diverse with approximately 1000 students representing over 40 nationalities. There is a strong sense of camaraderie amongst the student body with events and cultural occasions celebrated with great enthusiasm.   • Each class has an elected student representative who acts as a communication channel between the students and the faculty. Regular meetings are held with the staff and representatives and the Students’ Association work with students and staff of the University to ensure that students have a voice and that it is heard.

Every term a module feedback questionnaire is delivered to every student and resulting information is analysed for any opportunity to improve student experience both academically and recreationally. Facilities

Lecture Rooms

The lecture rooms range in size according to class sizes but all are spacious, well lit and fully equipped with all the latest teaching aids. The newly refurbished 8th floor provides further facilities and classrooms including two state-of-the-art lecture theatres each seating approximately 80 students for facilitating seminars and guest speakers.

Student Common Room

There is a student common room on each floor for students to eat, study, or just chat with friends. There are hot and cold drinks available as well as a vending machine for snacks.

Resource Centre

The resource centre is fully equipped with the latest computing equipment. It features a library of books, CD’s, journals and academic publications from all over the world for students to study onsite or take home to read.

Computer Lab

As part of the university expansion plan, a second hi-tech computer lab provides extensive computing facilities on a first come, first served basis to all students. Each computer lab holds over 20 units free for student use.

Online Resources

Not only do students have access to thousands of hours of management training resources through an online library, but also video clips and presentations from some global academic names and entrepreneurs. There is also an intranet, managed from the central site, enabling students’ access to a range of guidance and advice, as well as some lecturers’ notes in the Virtual Learning Environment.

Free Wi-Fi

All students have access to the Glyndŵr University London free WiFi, enabling access to all online resources anywhere throughout the university site.

Biometric Attendance System

Student attendance is captured and monitored using a biometric fingerprinting system. Students can easily clock in and out with no hassle at the start and finish of lectures.

Reception Area

Students can visit the reception area and ask our friendly staff members if they need any help or have any questions. There is always plenty of information and assistance available to ensure you enjoy your university life and have everything you need available.
